Glamorous glamping in the wild, rugged and unspoiled Beara Peninsula, West Cork

Hungry Hill Lodge and Campsite is a family friendly holiday park run by Daniel & Jamie Botermans. The site is located in the heart of the Beara Peninsula in West Cork, on the Wild Atlantic Way, making it an excellent base for walking and cycling. It’s also perfect situated for touring the South West of Ireland including Mizen Head, Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry.

Next to pitches we have a number of self-catering rooms and glamping accommodation available. The main lodge houses single, double and family rooms, some with ensuite and others with sharing toilet/shower facilities. We can accommodate from a single person to parties of up to 25, ideal for groups. There’s a fully equipped large kitchen with ample cooking and storage space leading to a dining area. There’s also a lounge/sitting room with books and TV with satellite channels.

The ‘Hungry Hill Pod’ has the look of a cosy, old shepherd’s hut and offers you the luxury comfort of a tiny house. Suitable for max. 2 adults and 1 child the pod has a double bed with an upper single bed and a seating area with collapsible table. It has its own shower and toilet and a fully equipped kitchen. The wooden framed porch overlooks the campsite and has an outdoor seating area.

The log cabin sits in a quiet corner next to the main lodge building. It has a double bed and bunk bed making it suitable for families or friends. It shares all the main amenities of the lodge: fully equipped kitchen, showers and toilets.

The stone cottage was originally a Forge in the copper mine period in the 1800s. Because of the old building structure and to keep the cottage in its original state, you will find the private facilities (shower/toilet) in an outhouse building at the rear of the cottage. There’s a double bed and fully equipped kitchen making it an ideal place for couples who wish to explore the beautiful and wild Beara Peninsula from a central location.
